Standard Profil Erasmus + Internship Program




Simay Tekin
Simay Tekin has started her 3-month Erasmus + Internship program at SP Spain! She is a prospective Industrial Engineer and soon will be graduating. Let us follow her in that journey!



How did you take part in this internship program? Would you mention concisely?

I took part in this internship program thanks to the Erasmus + Internship program of my school, Manisa Celal Bayar University. During the year, I had worked as a volunteer intern in the Standard Profil Manisa-2 Extrusion Engineering unit. When I told them about this internship program of our school, they referred me to the Human Resources department, I was accepted following the delivery of my CV’ and the processes of correspondence.

What department are you going to have your internship in?

I had internship in the Standard Profil Manisa plant’s  Extrusion Engineering unit during the year, I will go to the same department in Spain as well but my aim is to observe other departments too, as I will be there for approximately three months. 

What do you think will the abroad internship experience provide you with?

It will be my biggest acquisition to observe how the people from different cultures trained with different viewpoints manage to be teams. I also think that it will impact my decision about where I should start my professional career, by making comparisons between the conditions and business life.

Do you have a future business/occupation dream?

I would like to be a leader with a source of inspiration to the people surrounding me. It is a dream that requires huge responsibility and I have a path that is very long and that requires efforts to be achieved. I believe that different persons and environments will provide me with numerous contributions in my personal improvement.

How do you evaluate your work and your profession as a woman?

I am a person who is against departmental discrimination as per gender or the idea of positive discrimination at the area of working. I believe that everyone can succeed anything he or she wishes and I think that the success targeted in the working environment can be attained by powerful teams who are able to distribute the tasks well. As a newly graduate Industrial Engineer, it will be my first target to be a part of a good team in the world of business into which I will venture  upon the completion of my Erasmus internship.
